Journey with Jane – Beginning Your Journey

Classes I teach at Cabbage Rose Quilting & Gifts in Fort Worth, Texas

Have you wanted to start a Dear Jane quilt, but don’t know where to start? Do you want to sharpen your piecing skills? This is the class for you! Sharon Mastbrook will guide you through the basic piecing skills to make the 4.5” Dear Jane blocks. See the class description for more details.

Class 1 – September 18 or October 2, 2004
Time: 1-5 p.m.

4 hours ($20.00) – Bring DJ Book, Sewing Machines, Rotary Cutter & Mat, Rulers, Miscellaneous Sewing Supplies to Class. Handouts & pattern templates will be provided in class. 

Introduction to Jane Stickle and the Dear Jane Quilt (30 minutes)
Organizing your Journal and blocks (30 minutes)
A1 Pinwheel Gone Awry – Strip Piecing, Connectors (1.5 hours)
K12 Doris’ Dilemma – Paper Piecing (1.5 hours)


Class 2 – September 25 or October 9, 2004
Time: 1-5 p.m.

4 hours ($20.00) – All Handwork – Bring your needles, scissors, marking pencils, DJ Book, etc. Handouts & pattern templates will be provided in class.

B3 Mirror Image – Hand Piecing Curves (1.5 hours)
I5 Maria’s Majesty  - Reverse Appliqué, Appliqué Melons,  (2 hours)
Sashing Jane Blocks (15 minutes)
Continuing your journey with the Stickle Bee (15 minutes)

Personalized Electric Quilt Software Lessons

Class Fee: $10 per hour
Learn how to use EQ5, BlockBase, Dear Jane CD, etc.
Class limited to 2 people.  Laptop computer is not required, but helpful.
